ISLAMABAD -- At least 24 people were killed and 82 others injured in a blast targeting a shuttle of the Jaffar Express in the country's southwest Balochistan province on Sunday, police sources said.

The shuttle, carrying law enforcement personnel heading home for Eid holidays, had departed from Quetta Cantonment when the explosion occurred around 8:05 a.m. local time, sources told Xinhua on the condition of anonymity. (Pakistan-Train Blast-Deaths)

TEHRAN -- The Navy of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) on Sunday said 33 vessels had passed through the Strait of Hormuz within the past 24 hours in coordination with and after obtaining permission from its forces.

It made the announcement in a statement published by the IRGC's official news outlet, Sepah News, saying the vessels included oil tankers and commercial and container ships, and that they crossed the strait while their security was ensured by its forces. (Iran-Hormuz Strait-Vessel)

ADDIS ABABA -- The Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) has called for accelerated response and preparedness measures in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Uganda and 10 other high-risk countries to rapidly contain the ongoing Ebola outbreak.

Addressing an online press briefing on Saturday evening, Africa CDC Director General Jean Kaseya said a total of 745 cases, including both suspected and confirmed infections, and 176 probable deaths have been reported since the DRC declared its 17th outbreak on May 15. (Africa-CDC-Ebola)

JERUSALEM -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday in a social media post that he and U.S. President Donald Trump agreed that any final agreement with Iran must eliminate the nuclear danger.
