GAZA -- Hamas announced on Saturday the start of its meetings in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with Palestinian factions and mediators to discuss the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the future of the Gaza Strip.
Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem told reporters that the meetings aim to complete what was agreed upon in the first phase, including halting "Israeli aggression and escalation, assassinations, opening the crossings, and allowing the entry of the National Committee." (Gaza Strip-Hamas-Israel)

ADEN, Yemen -- A senior commander of Yemen's pro-government forces was killed in a roadside bomb attack targeting his convoy in the Red Sea province of Hodeidah on Saturday, the National Resistance Forces said in a statement.
The group identified the victim as Yahya Wahish, commander of its First Division, saying he was killed when an explosive device detonated as his convoy passed through the Al Khawkhah district in southern Hodeidah. (Yemen-Bomb attack-Death)

BEIRUT/JERUSALEM -- At least 14 people, including three Lebanese army personnel, were killed in Israeli attacks across southern Lebanon on Saturday, according to Lebanon's National News Agency.

TEHRAN -- A senior adviser to Iran's supreme leader has called on U.S. President Donald Trump to make decisions independently of Israel, stop the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, and release Iran's frozen assets.
