GENEVA -- The planned talks among the United States, Iran, Qatar and Pakistan scheduled for Friday in the Swiss resort of Burgenstock have been postponed, said the Swiss Foreign Ministry.

BEIRUT -- At least 47 people were killed and 97 others injured in intensive Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon from midnight until Friday afternoon, according to an updated toll released by Lebanon's Public Health Emergency Operations Center.

JERUSALEM -- The United States has initiated a pilot plan for a partial Israeli military withdrawal from the "security zone" it holds in southern Lebanon, Israel's state-owned Kan TV News reported on Friday.

NEW YORK -- The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative on Thursday launched an investigation against Germany under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 to determine whether persistent underpayment for innovative pharmaceutical products by Germany is unreasonable or discriminatory and burdens or restricts U.S. commerce.
