JAKARTA, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia posted a cumulative trade surplus of 4.03 billion U.S. dollars during the January-May period of this year, the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) said at a press conference on Wednesday.
Ateng Hartono, BPS deputy for distribution and services statistics, said exports in the first five months reached 115.36 billion dollars, while imports increased to 111.33 billion dollars.
Cumulative exports in the first five months of 2026 rose 3.02 percent year-on-year, Hartono said.
Imports in this period increased 15.24 percent year-on-year, driven mainly by a surge in imports of raw materials and intermediate goods, Hartono added. Enditem
