TOKYO, July 1 (Xinhua) -- The Japanese yen weakened to the upper 162 level against the U.S. dollar in Tokyo on Wednesday, amid increasing expectations of a rate hike by the Federal Reserve.
The yen briefly touched 162.84 against the dollar in Tokyo trading, marking its weakest level since December 1986, as stronger-than-expected U.S. job openings data in May fueled expectations of Federal Reserve rate hikes this year. Enditem
