RIYADH -- Pakistan will host the next round of negotiations between the United States and Iran on July 11, Al Arabiya news channel reported on Saturday.
Citing unnamed sources, the report said the upcoming round will focus on U.S. sanctions on Iran, Iranian frozen assets, and the Iranian nuclear file.
On June 18, Iran and the United States signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on ending the war in the region on all fronts, including Lebanon. On June 22, technical negotiations between Iran and the United States were held in Switzerland following high-level consultations between Iranian and U.S. delegations the previous day with the mediation of Pakistan and Qatar. CARACAS -- The death toll from the two earthquakes that struck Venezuela last week has risen to 2,954, and 16,592 others were injured, National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez said Saturday.
In a message on his Telegram channel, Rodriguez said 6,462 people had been rescued after the disaster hit the central states of Aragua, Miranda and La Guaira, as well as the western states of Carabobo, Yaracuy and Falcon.

TEHRAN -- A two-day farewell ceremony of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei began here at Imam Khomeini's Mosalla prayer hall on Saturday morning, drawing huge crowds from across the country.
The late leader's body and those of his four family members, killed alongside him in a U.S.-Israeli strike in late February, have been placed on a raised platform.

KIEV -- Ukraine's General Staff on Saturday rejected Russia's statement that Russian forces had taken control of Konstantinovka in the Donetsk region, saying the city remains under Ukrainian control.
Andriy Kovaliov, spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that based on data from Ukraine's operational monitoring systems, Konstantinovka remains under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, adding that Ukrainian units continue defensive operations in the city and on its outskirts.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that Russian forces had taken control of Konstantinovka, describing its capture as "a key step toward the liberation of the Donetsk region." (Ukraine-Russia-Donetsk)

MADRID -- A large wildfire broke out Friday evening in Spain's northeastern region of Catalonia, remaining out of control with approximately 2,300 hectares of land burned.
Nearly 10,000 residents in multiple municipalities in Girona province have been evacuated or ordered to shelter in place due to the blaze, and several roads have been temporarily closed. All residents have been reported safe.
