2 Dead in Cash Carrying Vehicle Robbery

Two people were killed and an uncertain sum of money was taken away in a cash carrying vehicle robbery happening on Saturday afternoon in the city of Putian, in east China's Fujian Province.

 

Local police source said the robbery occurred at around 5:00 PM. on the city's Liyuan Road.

 

The driver of the cash carrying vehicle and a guard were killed in the robbery and the police so far did not know the exact sum of money that had been taken away.

 

The police said they received alarms at 5:41 PM and immediately deployed armed police on the major highways connecting Putian with the neighboring cities to hunt for the suspect.

 

Preliminary investigation showed that the suspected armed robber is another guard on the vehicle.
