Chinese skaters set two world records

China's Zhou Yang set a world women's record in the 1,500 meters in the semifinals with a time of 2 minutes and 16.729 seconds, then won the final in 2:17.162 in a short-track World Cup event on Saturday in Kearns, Utah of the United States.

According to a news report from ESPN on Saturday, Zhou Yang's teammate Wang Meng also set a world record, taking the women's 500 meters title in 43.266.

 

In the stop, the South Korean women's 3,000 relay team broke another record with a time of 4:11.478.

 

South Korea's Lee Seung-hoon won the men's 1,500 meters, finishing in 2:13.922.

 

U.S. star Apolo Anton Ohno was third in 2:14.252 in his first race in Salt Lake City since moving to the area to train for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

 

Canada's Charles Hamelin won the men's 500 meters in 41.205.
