Olympic flames arrives in Buenos Aires

The Olympic flame for the 2008 Olympic Games arrived on Thursday at 17:00 local time (20:00 GMT) at Ezeiza international airport, in the outskirts of Buenos Aires city.

The Olympic icon arrived amidst strict security measures.

The flame was greeted at the airport by Chinese Ambassador to Argentina Zeng Gang, Argentine Olympic Committee (COA) vice president Alicia Masoni de Morea and Buenos Aires sports undersecretary Francisco Irarrazabal.

The Argentine capital is the seventh city the Olympic torch has toured, it will travel to Tanzania afterwards.
