Chinese mainland is a huge market with plenty of opportunities in the eyes of many non-mainland entrepreneurs. They come to reside and invest expecting to get more profits for returns. Who are those people? Let's have a look at the 51 most wealthy of them.

Hurun, a Shanghai-based research institute that focus on China wealth, has jointly released the first list of non-mainland rich people with Money Weekly, a professional magazine of money management.

The term "non-mainland rich" refers to the rich who were born or grew up outside of the Chinese mainland, but have their companies headquaretered in the Chinese mainland.

Wei Ying-chiao and his family, who are from Taiwan and own Tianjin-based Ting Hsin International Group, top the list with 40 billion yuan (US$6.17 billion). He is followed by another Taiwan businessman, Tsai Eng-meng, chairman of Want Want China Holdings Ltd with 38 billion yuan (US$5.87 billion). Chu Shu Ho, from Hong Kong, owns Mission Hills Golf Club China and ranks third with a wealth of 26 billion yuan (US$4.02 billion).

Wei Ying-chiao from Taiwan is the richest non-mainlander in China. He is chairman of Tianjin-based Ting Hsin International Group.

Among the 51 people on this rich list, forty-three are worth more than 1 billion yuan (US$154.44 million) each and 65 percent of them are from Taiwan, followed by Hong Kong and the US. Many of them are in real estate, as well as the food, beverage and clothing industries.

Here is the Hurun List of Non-mainland Rich in 2011.
