※  Powerful tornadoes slam US state of Texas



 

Powerful tornadoes hit the Dallas-Fort Worth (DWF) area in the U.S. state of Texas on April 3, 2012, leaving more than a dozen people injured.

Widespread damage was reported, as tornadoes and violent storms overturned trucks, damaged buildings and cut off the power supply to thousands of homes and businesses in the Dallas and Fort Worth area, the country's fourth most-populous metropolitan area- harboring over 6 million people.

Multiple tornadoes forced airlines to cancel their flights, and more than 110 aircraft sustained damages from the hail. Meanwhile, other damages were reported in Arlington, Texas, and the mayor of the city signed a declaration of disaster. [Full story]
