The Beijing Public Transportation Group initiatedthe sightseeing Route Three of the city on July 1, 2016. It's worth mentioning that this is the first line using the 12-meter-long fully-electric double-decker bus, which was made by Zhuhai Yinlong New Energy. The bus has broken a series of industry records.
Route Three was connected to Route One and Two at the north gate of the Forbidden City. The north-south 54.5-kilometer route goes through the middle of the ancient city of Beijing, covering famous sights like the Summer Palace, the Old Summer Palace, Tsinghua University, Peking University, the National Stadium and the Forbidden City. Therefore, Route Three is the first long-distance luxury electric double-decker bus line in the country.
"For the sightseeing bus, the Beijing Public Transportation Group has set strict demands on its styling, interior decoration, power and noise control," stressed the leader of Zhuhai Yinlong New Energy. The bus can be fully charged or discharged within six minutes and withstand temperatures from minus 50 degrees to 60 degrees without being damaged. Also, it can be used for one decade before it needs to be replaced.
Reporters also learned that this Chinese red sightseeing bus was once used as the official designated bus during the Second U.S.-China Low-carbon Cities Summit held in Beijing this June. Additionally, the ancient-style diangdiang tram car running around the Tian'anmen Square was also made by Zhuhai Yinlong New Energy.
