The 2016 Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant started in Zhuhai Hengqin Chimelong Ocean Kingdom on the evening of July 27.

Liu Diandian, deputy director of the Chinese Channel of Phoenix Satellite Television, and Li Denghai, chief operating officer of Chimelong Group, attended the press conference and the night lighting ceremony.

Moreover, Guo Yangzi, Wu Weiting and Li Luya, champion, runner-up and second runner-up respectively of the 2015 Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant, dressed up as beautiful fairy princesses and came to the ceremony on floats.

"It is the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Phoenix Satellite Television and the 14th year that Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant has been held. The pageant, organized by Phoenix Satellite Television, has always brought the Chinese people together and created the Chinese beauty standards for different generations," said Liu Diandian.

"The Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant always pays attention to high levels of education, quality and personal taste, which are the three main principles. All the selected are endowed with both beauty and talent, as wise as they are fair. This year we will take an overseas trip to Italy," added Liu.

"Chimelong Group is the named sponsor of Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant 2016. The finale of the pageant is expected to take place in late October at the Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort. When the time comes, the event will be broadcasted live to the whole world," said Li Denghai in his speech.
