The 14th Zhuhai Beach Music Festival attracted 25,000 visitors who not only enjoyed the music feast but also noticed a round lighthouse located on the opposite side of the Baidao Square.

Actually, the lighthouse, though constructed in Mediterranean style, is a monitor center that measures sea humidity and wave height. The main part of the lighthouse is almost complete after a year's construction. The main tower is 7 meters in diameter, 18.25 meters in height, 38.48 square meters in area; additional structures consist of a viewing platform 20 meters in diameter and 275.52 square meters in area and a 67.14-meter long bridge.

The lighthouse is not only there to monitoring the sea, but also as a relaxation spot for tourists. Many maritime elements are included in the design of the lighthouse to enable it to be a perfect match for the beautiful scenery along the beach. It is hoped that the lighthouse can be another attractive scenic spot for Zhuhai's tourism industry.
