Four Beijing-based companies have been recognized in China's 2025 lists of top cultural enterprises, underscoring the capital's achievements in promoting high-quality development of the cultural sector.

Kuaishou Technology, iQiyi, and Weimeng Chuangke Network Technology were named among top 30 cultural enterprises of China, while Poly Theatre Management secured a spot in the list of China's top 30 emerging cultural enterprises.

In 2024, Beijing's cultural industry reported robust growth, with revenue from major firms rising 6.7% year on year to 2.25 trillion yuan (US$312.9 billion). The sector accounts for 11.4% of the city's GDP, the highest percentage nationwide, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

The growth momentum has continued into 2025, with cultural and related industries generating 594.7 billion yuan in Q1 revenue, up 12.5% year on year. New business models, including internet and digital services and smart device manufacturing, contributed 417.8 billion yuan, a 14% increase, making up 71.4% of the city's total cultural industry revenue.

Beijing's cultural policy framework has played a key role. Late last year, the city introduced measures to cultivate new cultural business models, followed by a three-year action plan in January to accelerate tech-driven innovation in the industry.
