Vietnam plans to reduce the processing time for foreign work permits from 36 days to 10 days and streamline applications through an online system, Vietnam News Agency reported Monday.
Vietnam's Ministry of Home Affairs is drafting a decree to simplify procedures and expand eligibility, including allowing foreign students with university degrees to work in priority sectors such as finance, science, innovation and digital transformation, the report added.
The report said that this new regulation aims to reflect Vietnam's demand for high-quality foreign workers in emerging industries like semiconductors and artificial intelligence.
