Pompeii exhibition opens in central China's Hunan

7月8日，参观者在湖南博物院参观“遇见庞贝：永恒之城”展览。当日，“遇见庞贝：永恒之城”展览在湖南博物院开展。本次展览以庞贝古城为主题，展出130多件/套原物真迹，包括湿壁画、雕塑、铜器、金器等，通过丰富的文物展示和复原场景，带领观众穿越时空，走进这座永恒之城，感受它曾经的辉煌与魅力。公元79年，维苏威火山爆发，炙热的火山灰和岩浆将山脚下的庞贝掩埋。这座古城当年的生活原貌因此得以保存。庞贝是意大利目前保存最为完整的古罗马城市遗址，已被列入世界文化遗产名录。[新华社记者 薛宇舸 摄]

People visit the exhibition "Meet Pompeii: The Eternal City" at the Hunan Museum in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province, July 8, 2025. This exhibition showcasing cultural relics from ancient Pompeii opened here on Tuesday. It features more than 130 artifacts, including frescoes, sculptures, and bronze and gold ware, and will run through November 2 this year. Pompeii, situated between Naples and the Amalfi Coast, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
