Editor's Note: An exhibition exploring the formation of China's national identity has just marked its second year at the Cultural Palace of Nationalities in Beijing.
The Exhibition of Cultural Relics and Ancient Books on Forging a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation, organized by the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, features more than 1,500 artifacts and ancient books, as well as multimedia displays to trace the origin and evolution of Chinese civilization and how China became a united multi-ethnic country from political, economic, social and cultural dimensions.
Divided in three sections of unification, integration and unity, the exhibition offers a historical panorama of the formation and development of a community for the Chinese nation.
The exhibition, which tells vivid stories about exchanges, communication, and integration among various ethnic groups, has received around 400,000 visitors since its opening in August 2023.
