NBA star and Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry kicked off his 2025 Curry Brand China Tour on Monday at the Chongqing International Expo Center in Southwest China's Chongqing.
The tour features the world's first Curry Con and Asia's debut Curry Camp, both brand-sponsored events focusing on empowering athletes through basketball fundamentals, teamwork, and self-belief. These events provide mentoring and coaching from Curry and a team of expert coaches and trainers, the organizers said.
"I've been a huge fan of Curry since I was a little girl, and he's the reason I got into basketball and later joined the college team," said Zhang Rui, a fan from Nanjing, Jiangsu province. "I missed meeting him in Shanghai last year, so I can't wait to see my idol this time in Chongqing."
The three-day basketball extravaganza in the southwestern municipality includes training and coaching sessions for young players from diverse backgrounds. It also features elite competitions and a public welfare activity on the closing day.
Curry, the NBA's all-time leader in 3-point scoring, is among the most popular NBA players in China, boasting more than 5.78 million followers on Sina Weibo, China's X-like social media platform.
This trip marks a decade since Curry's last visit to Chongqing.
