The launch ceremony of the second season of the 5th "Beijing - A Global City" Short Video Contest kicked off Monday in Beijing, calling for a new round of entries from short video creators and netizens.
The second season of the contest will start in September and conclude in November. Centered on the theme of fashion and vitality, this season will focus its lens on Beijing's iconic blocks, cultural and creative parks, fashion shows, vibrant commercial districts, tech enterprises, professional sporting events, and smart lifestyles. It aims to capture fashion elements and dynamic moments that represent the city's development trends, using short videos to present to the world a new image of Beijing that is future-oriented and trend-setting.
At the launch ceremony, a number of retail and life service providers rolled out exclusive campaigns and introduced special perks. These promotions cover a wide range of scenarios, including dining, transportation, flash sales, and accommodation, helping contestants explore popular attractions, trendy routes, and Beijing cuisine.
The launch ceremony also presented awards to 50 outstanding works from the first season of the contest.
Since its commencement in May, the contest has received more than 78,000 entries, drawing nearly 4.5 billion views online, including a large number of videos with over 1 million views.
