Crystal Palace midfielder Matheus Franca has joined Vasco da Gama on loan as the Brazilian Serie A club strengthens its squad for the second half of the season.
The 21-year-old former Flamengo player agreed to a loan deal running until June 2026 after completing a medical in Rio de Janeiro.
"It's great to be back in Rio de Janeiro, especially at a giant club like Vasco," he said in a video posted on Vasco's official website on Tuesday. "I'm in good physical shape and ready to give my all to the team to help in any way I can."
Franca struggled for opportunities at Crystal Palace last season following his 20 million-euro move from Flamengo. He made 19 appearances across all competitions - many as a substitute - scoring one goal and providing two assists.
Vasco has now completed four signings in Brazil's mid-season transfer window, with Franca joining Thiago Mendes, Andres Gomez and Roberto Renan.
The Rio outfit is currently 16th in the 20-team Serie A standings with 19 points from 20 games.
