Beijing has installed new decorations at Tian'anmen Square and Chang'an Avenue at the heart of the city, marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

These arrangements combine nine design elements, including national flags, flowerbeds, and night lighting. According to the Beijing Municipal Urban Management Commission, the designs center on a theme of remembering history, honoring martyrs, cherishing peace, and creating the future.

Among the highlights of the installations are the rainbow arches at the Jianguomen and Fuxingmen intersections, which feature 14 doves. Giant columns bear the event's official emblem, attracting residents and tourists to take photos.

From Jianguomen to Fuxingmen, 10 large flower installations have been set up along the avenue. The landscaping effort extends across the capital, with over 400 smaller flowerbeds and thousands of flower containers installed.

At dusk, illuminated streetscapes and themed sculptures further enrich the atmosphere. At Qianmen, a new installation titled "United as One" blends images of red flags, a dragon, flames and the Chinese character "众 (zhong)," symbolizing national unity.

In addition, more than 260 overpass banners, 8,000 posters, and over 62,000 public screens on buses, subways and city billboards are displaying commemorative slogans.

From Sept. 2 to 6, about 230,000 national flags will be displayed across the city. About 2,950 lighting facilities will switch on from 6:50 p.m. to midnight, while fountains will also be activated to mark the occasion.
