UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Tuesday condemned the Israeli attacks in Qatar.
"I condemn this flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Qatar," said Guterres, noting that Qatar is a country that has been playing a very positive role in achieving a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages.
"All parties must work toward achieving a permanent ceasefire, not destroying it," he told a press conference for the launch of a report on military spending.
The Israeli attacks in Qatar underscore the importance of the report. It lays bare a stark reality: the world is spending far more on waging war than in building peace, said Guterres.
