The 10th Colorful World Cultural Exhibition and Exchange Event, a key program of the cultural and tourism section at the ongoing China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), opened Wednesday in Beijing's Shougang Park.

The event, featuring exhibitions and cultural performances, serves as a platform for cross-cultural exchanges and mutual learning.

At the opening ceremony, diplomats from Uganda, the Central African Republic, and Indonesia promoted their countries' cultural resources and expressed hopes for closer people-to-people exchanges.

The ceremony presented a vibrant lineup of performances, including a dance inspired by the ancient Silk Road, Chinese acrobatics, a Ugandan dance, as well as songs from Slovakia and Indonesia.

This year's event expanded its exhibitions and interactive experiences.

Indoors, 20 embassies in China set up booths showcasing cultural products from their respective countries, from chocolate and Guinean leather bags to Georgian wine and Moroccan tea sets.

Outdoors, visitors can explore photo displays, illustrations, and interactive installations, including an AI-powered world tour that enables them to take virtual photos with landmarks across the globe.

From Sept. 11 to 14, more than 10 intangible cultural heritage performances — including acrobatics, traditional operas, and puppetry — will be staged daily, offering a lively fusion of Chinese and international art.
