The event, which is sponsored by the Information Office of the Beijing Municipal Government, aims to use exhibitions, performances and special tourism projects to build connections and enable cultural exchange. Beyond promoting long-term economic and industrial growth, it's core mission is to encourage mutual learning and bring people of differing cultures together.

Beijing government officials, enterprise leaders and diplomats from 30 Belt and Road Initiative partner countries, as well as representatives from international organizations such as the World Tourism Cities Federation, attended the opening ceremony.

Yu Junsheng, director of the Information Office of the Beijing Municipal Government, stated that the Colorful World event will continue to support the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative by enriching culture through technology. The event aims to enhance the cultural experience, broaden its exhibition content, and showcase Beijing's city image. Colorful World is being developed into a flagship CIFTIS activity, recognized for its distinctive international character, vibrant cultural atmosphere, and interactive engagement.

Hussam Al Husseini, ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to China, pointed out the event builds an important bridge for nations to showcase diverse cultures and deepen people-to-people ties. He highlighted Jordan's unique charm and invited guests to experience its ancient heritage and hospitality at the Jordan exhibition booth.

Performances from China, Slovakia, Uganda, Indonesia, and other countries were featured during the opening ceremony. Highlighting the beauty of cultural integration, the event provided diplomats from various nations the opportunity to take the stage and showcase their unique cultural heritage.

Lucia Skvareninova, Economic Counsellor at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in China, stated, "I am deeply convinced that culture is one of the most important pillars connecting the two cultures of the world and the two countries. Slovakia and China have a really long relationship, and it is important to support this event." She also emphasized that the Chinese government's efforts to organize cultural events like this are crucial for fostering connections between different countries and their cultures.

"The relation between Uruguay and China is a very good relation," said Martin Orlando, charge d'affaires of the embassy of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay to China. "We have had exchanges in many areas for many years, and our level of relationship is growing. The relation of people to people is our last challenge. Hopefully this event is going to help us and generate a better understanding between our peoples."

The 10th Colorful World event is a key part of the culture and tourism section of CIFTIS. It is an important window for Beijing's cultural exchanges. Through stage performances, tourism promotions and interactive activities, it creates an internationally significant cultural gathering. This year's upgraded event features an AI-powered "One-Click World Tour" experience, as well as exhibition booths from 20 embassies selling local specialties. If this was not enough, participants can also enroll in the "Silk Road Passport" stamp collection activity.

The platform's services were significantly enhanced this year. In collaboration with multiple departments, the event also launched a scenario-based theme service in nine languages. The scenario's carefully covered payments, transportation, education, tourism, investments and other diverse content. It also provides a one-stop Beijing Living guide for international visitors, demonstrating the city's desire to further improve international services.
