Manchester United's troubles deepened on Sunday as Ruben Amorim's side slumped to a comprehensive derby defeat against Manchester City.

City handed a debut to goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, but it was Erling Haaland who stole the show with goals in the 53rd and 68th minutes after Phil Foden had opened the scoring with a header in the 18th. Jeremy Doku provided assists for the first two goals as City bounced back from consecutive defeats with a dominant win.

Elsewhere, Mohamed Salah converted a 95th-minute penalty to give Liverpool a 1-0 victory over Burnley. The home side, reduced to 10 men after Lesley Ugochukwu's red card in the 84th minute, looked set to snatch a point until Hannibal handled deep into stoppage time. It was Burnley's second straight loss to a late penalty.

On Saturday, Arsenal spoiled Ange Postecoglou's Nottingham Forest debut with a 3-0 win. New signings Martin Zubimendi and Viktor Gyokeres were on target, with Zubimendi's volley the standout strike. The result was marred by captain Martin Odegaard's shoulder injury.

Tottenham eased the pressure on West Ham coach Graham Potter with a 3-0 away win. Goals from Pape Matar Sarr, Lucas Bergvall and Micky van de Ven sealed the result after Tomas Soucek's 54th-minute red card left West Ham exposed.

Bournemouth claimed a third consecutive win, edging Brighton 2-1 with goals from Alex Scott and Antoine Semenyo's penalty. Fulham also struck late, snatching a 1-0 win over Leeds United thanks to Gabriel Gudmundsson's 94th-minute own goal.

Nick Woltemade marked his Newcastle United debut with the only goal in a 1-0 win over Wolves, condemning the visitors to a fourth consecutive defeat.

Everton's clash with Aston Villa and Crystal Palace's meeting with Sunderland both ended goalless, with Sunderland earning its first away point of the season.
