Angel Di Maria struck a first-half equalizer as Rosario Central salvaged a 1-1 home draw with Boca Juniors in Argentina's Primera Division on Sunday.
Rodrigo Battaglia gave the visitors the lead with a glancing header after Brian Aguirre's cross from the right flank.
Di Maria put his side on level terms at El Gigante by curling home directly from a corner.
The hosts looked the more likely to break the deadlock in the second half but were denied by a series of sharp saves from goalkeeper Leandro Brey.
"I'm happy with the goal but also because we played a great match," Di Maria told reporters. "I think in general terms that it was an evenly contested match. We're doing a lot of things right and that's reflected by the fact we haven't lost a match yet."
The result leaves Rosario Central sixth in Group B with 11 points from seven outings, while Boca is third in Group A with 13 points.
In other Primera Division fixtures on Sunday, Platense won 2-1 at Defensa y Justicia, Tigre was held to a goalless home draw by Talleres Cordoba, Instituto prevailed 2-0 at home to Argentinos Juniors and Union Santa Fe won 3-1 at Gimnasia.
