A spectacular fashion show titled "56" was held at Tank 97 in Bejing's 798-751 Art District on Sept. 12, shining a spotlight on the rich tapestry of traditional costumes and cultures of China's 56 ethnic groups.

The show, held as part of the 2025 China Fashion Week (Autumn), was presented by Yang Chunlin, a designer from the Miao ethnic group in Guizhou province and founder of the ethnic culture-inspired fashion brand Gu-A-Xin.

Children from all ethnic groups across the country displayed their distinctive and exquisite ensembles which were lovingly handmade by their mothers and grandmothers, and embody their precious cultural heritage.

Yang Chunlin, also founder of the renowned "Village Fashion Show" in Guizhou's Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture, said, "What we want is to showcase not only our traditional attire, but also our roots, our identity and a new era in which we continue to move forward together."

"It took our team nearly six months to prepare everything, from model selection and traditional attire collection, to training, rehearsals and the final show," said Yang Meng, chief operating officer of Gu-A-Xin.
