North China's Hebei hosts tourism conference

The ninth Hebei Tourism Industry Development Conference was held from Sept. 15 to 17 in north China's Hebei province, with Xingtai serving as the main venue.

Themed "Spend Your Weekends in Beautiful Hebei," the event was jointly hosted by five cities along the Taihang Mountains, a major mountain range in northern China known for its scenic landscapes and rich cultural heritage. The participating cities were Xingtai, Shijiazhuang, Zhangjiakou, Baoding and Handan.

The Xingtai conference featured seven main events, including a cultural and tourism promotion showcasing the Taihang Mountains' heritage and resources. It also included investment matchmaking to boost local tourism, a market for local products and discussions on upgrading tourism services. Additional events included an archaeology exchange on the Middle-Shang period (1400-1250 B.C.) and the 2025 China Road Cycling Open. Supporting events will continue in the other four cities throughout September.

The five cities have organized more than 100 themed events centered on cultural and sports tourism, rural revitalization, red tourism and industrial promotion to highlight the region's tourism resources.

Officials from international tourism organizations, ambassadors and tourism counselors from major tourist source countries, industry leaders and representatives from relevant national ministries attended the conference.
