Peking University vice president being probed

Ren Yuzhong, vice president of China's prestigious Peking University, is being subjected to a disciplinary review and supervisory investigation for suspected severe violations of discipline and law, an official statement said on Wednesday.

Ren, also a member of the standing committee of the Peking University committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), has voluntarily surrendered himself to authorities and is being investigated by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision.
