Beijing will launch over 2,400 cultural and tourism activities to celebrate the upcoming National Day holiday and the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism will roll out 10 rural tourism routes, nearly 20 vacation products, and more than 100 activities combining culture, business, tourism, sports, and agriculture.
To mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, 10 themed tourism routes will be released. Wanping Town, a historical site, will stage light shows, while several museums will host exhibitions.
Other highlights include a lantern festival at Beijing World Park, a Mid-Autumn gala at Juyongguan Great Wall, and lantern-themed night tours at Shijingshan Park and the Beijing Garden of World's Flowers.
The bureau will also release a list of 30 recommended activities with focuses on culture, art, entertainment, food, and intangible cultural heritage.
In addition, the city will present 295 shows, including Peking Opera, drama, and dance drama.
Around 100 performances will be staged along the Liangma River during an international arts season. The country's first candy-themed festival will also be launched.
Public culture service institutions across the city will enrich the holiday with 742 events such as poetry readings, lectures, exhibitions, and creative fairs.
