A calligraphy exhibition featuring works from 6-year-olds to artists in their 90s opened this month in Beijing's Xicheng district, showcasing pieces that commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
The seventh calligraphy exhibition at the Cultural Center of Xicheng District, which runs through Oct. 8, features works that commemorate historical events and emphasize moral determination and collective memory.
The exhibition was organized by the Xicheng District Party History Office, Xicheng District Cultural and Tourism Bureau, the Xicheng District Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Cultural Center of Xicheng District, and the Xicheng District Calligraphy Association.
Organizers said the show presents calligraphy as an educational tool — an accessible way for generations to practice remembrance and civic responsibility.
