Editor's note: The Guan launched the "Between the Grass and Wood: Traditional Chinese Medicine Art" exhibition in September, inviting visitors to explore traditional Chinese medicine through modern art.
The exhibition engages all five senses, integrating traditional Chinese medicine philosophy, Beijing culture and a mythic character called Dorothy created by artist Heilichee. Guests use sight, touch, smell, hearing and taste to explore traditional medicine concepts rooted in natural harmony and bodily rhythms.
The Guan's approach adapts historical medicine practices through contemporary art installations, encouraging visitors to rediscover balance and reflection. The venue sits at the northern end of Beijing's Central Axis, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
