Beijing advances suburban development, regional coordination

Since the beginning of this year, Beijing has promoted the implementation of around 100 key projects in Pingyuan New City, fortifying the foundation for industrial cluster development.

Pingyuan New City comprises suburban districts including Fangshan, Shunyi, Changping, Daxing, as well as the Beijing E-Town, which are adjacent to both the downtown and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

So far, 4 projects have been completed and put into operation, 54 have commenced construction, and 19 have been approved. 

Among these projects, the Beijing aero-engine maintenance project in Shunyi district has been completed, while the Daxing Biomedicine Industrial Base has commenced construction. The world's first embodied intelligence robotics 4S store in Beijing's E-Town has been put into operation, and the city's first brain science and brain-computer interface industrial cluster and park in Changping district have been launched. Meanwhile, the Financial Security Industrial Park in Fangshan district has been completed, with 88 new institutions moving in.

These projects were promoted as the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region enters a new decade. In the first 3 quarters of this year, key bottleneck issues in industrial chains within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region have been addressed, while Beijing's technology contract transactions with Tianjin and Hebei reached 52.27 billion yuan ($7.35 billion), up 7.8% year on year.
