Bruno Rodrigues and Felipe Anderson scored in each half as leaders Palmeiras secured a 2-0 away win over Juventude in Brazil's Serie A on Sunday.
Rodrigues opened the scoring in the 24th minute in Caxias do Sul by pouncing on a loose ball and firing home from the edge of the six-yard box.
Anderson doubled the advantage with a curling effort from 18 yards after Khellven's long pass on the counterattack.
The result leaves Palmeiras with 65 points, a point ahead of second-placed Flamengo with eight matchdays remaining. Juventude is 19th in the 20-team standings with 26 points.
In Rio de Janeiro, former Brazil international midfielders Lucas Moura and Luiz Gustavo scored in Sao Paulo's 2-0 away victory over Vasco da Gama.
Former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham player Moura converted a first-half penalty before Luiz headed in after Aldemir Ferreira's cross.
Sao Paulo is now eighth in the standings with 44 points, two ahead of ninth-placed Vasco da Gama.
