China advance to Asian Women's U16 Volleyball Championship quarters

China's U16 women's volleyball team advanced to the quarterfinals of the Asian Women's U16 Volleyball Championship after defeating Kazakhstan 3-0 in its final Group C match on Monday.

China, which earlier edged South Korea 3-2 on Saturday and swept Qatar 3-0 on Sunday, continued its dominant form at Prince Hamzah Hall in Hussein Youth City, winning 25-17, 25-22, and 25-11.

With three consecutive victories, China topped Group C to secure its place in the quarterfinals, while South Korea also advanced from the same group after posting 3-0 wins over both Kazakhstan and Qatar.

The championship features 14 teams divided into four groups. Group A includes host Jordan, Uzbekistan and Hong Kong of China, while Group B consists of Japan, Iran and the Philippines. Group C brings together China, Kazakhstan, Qatar and South Korea, and Group D comprises Chinese Taipei, Thailand, Australia and India.

By the end of the group stage, Uzbekistan and Hong Kong of China advanced from Group A, Japan and the Philippines from Group B, South Korea alongside China from Group C, and Chinese Taipei and Thailand from Group D.

The top four finishers in the tournament will qualify for the 2026 World Women's U17 Championship.
