On Oct. 29, the State Grid Balin Left Banner Power Supply Company completed the upgrade and transformation of the 10-kV Biyang feeder in northern China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
This infrastructure improvement initiative, aimed to enhance power distribution efficiency in the area, marked the largest single engineering project undertaken by the company.
A task force comprising over 90 technicians was assigned to the upgrade project, ensuring seamless coordination of material allocation, technical support, and logistics.
Under a "multi-point parallel" construction mechanism, the task force was grouped to allow multiple teams to simultaneously perform tasks such as pole erection, conductor pulling, and dismantling across different work sections. This efficient, parallel workflow helped maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Safety supervisors strictly enforced on-site safety protocols and quality control personnel closely monitored every process to meet engineering standards.
The project took five days to complete, involving removing nine existing poles, dismantling 4.35 kilometers of existing conductors, erecting 154 new concrete poles, and installing 8.25 kilometers of new lines.
The company said it will remain focused on its annual grid construction targets to ensure a stronger and more reliable power supply in this area.
