Shenzhen Institute of Technology joins Luohu to launch new health innovation hub

On Tuesday, the Luohu District Government and Shenzhen Institute of Technology (SIT) signed a cooperation agreement to jointly establish the Shenzhen Institute of Technology Luohu Medical Center and the Shenzhen Institute of Technology Luohu Medical Industry Incubation Base. An unveiling ceremony was held the same day.

The initiative marks a new stage of collaboration between Luohu District and SIT following their 2024 strategic cooperation framework agreement. Under that framework, the two sides have been working together on talent cultivation, education, healthcare, scientific research, and technology commercialization to promote high-quality development and the transformation of scientific achievements.

The newly unveiled medical center and incubation base will bring together academic, clinical, and industrial resources through institutional innovation. It aims to build an open, collaborative innovation ecosystem that integrates the industrial, innovation, and talent chains, unleashing the combined strengths of university research and clinical practice.

Located in the Zhifeng Building within Luohu’s Health Industry Park, the center and base will form an integrated “industrial park-style” service chain with the Luohu Hospital Qingshuihe Campus and the Luohu Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

The partnership combines government guidance, university expertise, and market-driven efficiency, establishing a sustainable cooperation model. A joint meeting mechanism—led by the Luohu Investment Promotion Bureau, the Luohu Health Bureau, and SIT’s Future Medical Center—will coordinate major issues and ensure practical results.

The Luohu Medical Center will be jointly established by the Luohu Health Bureau and SIT’s Future Medical Center, with a joint research team focusing on collaborative scientific innovation.

The base will focus on cutting-edge fields such as AI-driven medical devices, biomedical engineering, precision medicine, and cell and gene technology, driving medical research and industrial transformation in Luohu.
