Beijing Daxing International Airport has recorded more than 5 million inbound and outbound travelers so far this year, reaching a new annual high as of Sunday, according to the airport's border inspection station. The figure marks a year-on-year increase of 26.6%.
The surge is attributed to China's continued rollout of measures facilitating entry for foreign nationals. Nearly 450,000 foreign travelers have entered China through the airport under visa-free and temporary entry permit policies.
Since China began its unilateral visa-free policy for Russian passport holders on Sept. 15, over 63,000 Russian travelers have entered the country via Daxing, marking an increase of nearly 80% from last year.
In addition, the National Immigration Administration recently introduced 10 new measures to support greater openness, aiming to further ease travel for foreign visitors and promote cross-border exchanges.
To meet rising demand under expanding visa-free policies, Daxing border inspection authorities have improved passenger flow forecasting, enhanced guidance signage, and smoothed clearance processes.
The station has also strengthened coordination with airport operators and airlines to provide efficient and high-quality services, further consolidating Daxing's role as a major international aviation hub.
