On Nov. 1, State Grid Chifeng Power Supply Company successfully deployed the first-of-its-kind mobile voltage regulating device on its 10 kV Qifendi Line in eastern Inner Mongolia, a critical move to boost the voltage terminus to a stable 10.2 kV.

The deployment was designed to solve the low-voltage issues impacting the local sheep industry caused by the addition of a new 5 MW electric heating load.

The power supply company was a core participant in the research and development, representing a milestone in enhancing the company's low-voltage management.

Traditionally, addressing low-voltage issues often involves lengthy and difficult construction of permanent concrete foundations, a task made especially challenging and slow during the winter months.

The mobile voltage regulator can be moved and re-used across different sites, serving as an agile emergency measure to reliably manage sudden load spikes and ensure consistent power supply for customers.

To implement the device, the company spent three months overcoming technical hurdles in device miniaturization, multi-scenario adaptability, and live-line installation.

The successful application not only fills a technical gap in mobile voltage regulation technology in the region but also provides a "low-cost, high-efficiency, and mobile" solution for managing low-voltage in eastern Inner Mongolia.
