Leader Flamengo rescue point against Atletico Mineiro

Bruno Henrique scored in the 92nd minute to earn leader Flamengo a 1-1 away draw with Atletico Mineiro in Brazil's Serie A on Tuesday.

Former Everton winger Bernard gave Atletico the lead by volleying home after Dudu's cross from the left flank.

Flamengo probed for an equalizer and Henrique finally breached the hosts' defense with a towering header following Danilo's floating 20-yard cross.

Atletico was reduced to 10 men when Rony was shown a straight red card for an ugly challenge on Ayrton Lucas two minutes from time.

The result leaves Flamengo five points clear of second-placed Palmeiras with two matchdays remaining and the Rio de Janeiro club can secure the title with a home win over Ceara in its next match on December 3. Atletico is 12th in the 20-team standings, 30 points off the pace.

In Tuesday's only other Serie A fixture, Gremio won 3-2 at home to Palmeiras.
