South Korea's special counsel team on Wednesday sought a 15-year prison term for Kim Keon-hee, wife of former impeached President Yoon Suk-yeol, on corruption charges.
The team of special counsel Min Joong-ki, leading an investigation into corruption allegations involving the former presidential couple, demanded the jail sentence for Kim, who has been held at a detention center since August, on charges of violating laws, including the capital markets act and the political funds act.
The sentencing date was set for Jan. 28 next year.
