Beijing has launched the expansion of the Zhongguancun (Chaoyang) Digital Healthcare Park recently, the city's first digital medical park, to accommodate a growing cluster of medical technology firms.
Since its debut last November, the park has attracted over 70 enterprises specializing in AI drug R&D, high-end medical devices, and smart health management. An initial industrial ecosystem covering research, pilot testing and application has taken shape.
Several companies have relocated their headquarters to the park, citing easy access to hospitals and clinical resources that support technology tests and applications. Some firms are developing home-based dialysis systems and AI-driven remote monitoring tools to improve treatment options for patients with chronic diseases.
To support company growth, the park is introducing shared platforms such as a medical device contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) center, AI-focused research institutes and concept verification facilities. These services allow companies to complete research, testing, registration and early-stage production within the park.
The newly launched expansion area covers 250,000 square meters. By 2030, the park aims to attract 10 leading companies and about 100 innovative firms, and generate more than 9 billion yuan in output, helping develop a digital healthcare industry worth over 100 billion yuan in Chaoyang district.
Chaoyang district said it will further open healthcare application scenarios, improve policy support for digital health, and use the park's expansion to strengthen cooperation with global digital health innovators.
