China Media Group (CMG) hosted a grand sports gala on Dec. 22 at Beijing's National Aquatics Center, celebrating the achievements and inspiring stories from China's sports field over the past year.
The event brought together legends and rising stars from China's sporting community. Through interviews and artistic performances, the gala celebrated the competitive spirit and core values that define Chinese sports culture.
In a video message, a representative of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) praised the passion, dedication and outstanding performances of Chinese athletes throughout the year. Looking ahead to the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, the IOC extended its best wishes to Chinese athletes and lauded the dual-Olympic legacy of the National Aquatics Center, noting its contribution to the country's sports development.
A special segment highlighted sports integration in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The gala also honored the top individuals and teams of the year, with a champion robot from the inaugural World Humanoid Robot Games appearing as a special guest to present an award.
As a dual-Olympic venue, the National Aquatics Center has continued to leverage the social and public value of its Olympic legacy. Moving forward, the venue will host more high-profile cultural and sporting events, supporting Beijing's development into a global hub for major sporting competitions.
