10th Beijing International Art Biennale opens in Beijing

The 10th Beijing International Art Biennale has opened at the Beijing Exhibition Center on Dec. 29, showcasing approximately 600 contemporary artworks from around 120 countries and regions, a new record in both scale and international participation.

It is co-hosted by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the China Artists Association.

The biennale, themed "Coexistence," features thematic exhibitions, special exhibitions, and country-focused exhibitions, focusing on global topics such as peace and development, ecological civilization, and the ethics of science and technology.

Through artistic exchange, the event seeks to tell the stories of Beijing, China and the world, promoting the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

Artworks span include traditional forms such as painting and sculpture, alongside installations, video art, digital works, and new media.

New this year are a digital art exhibition exploring human-AI coexistence, a contemporary ink art exhibition, and a showcase of Serbian modern art.

Since its founding in 2002, the biennale has connected artists from over 150 countries and regions, establishing itself as an important platform for promoting international art exchange and showcasing the diversity of human civilization.

The exhibition will run through Jan. 28, 2026.
