Morocco, Cameroon advance to Africa Cup of Nations quarters

Host nation Morocco secured its place in the quarterfinals of the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations with a narrow 1-0 victory over Tanzania on Sunday, while Cameroon edged South Africa 2-1.

Brahim Diaz scored Morocco's only goal in the 64th minute at Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. It was Diaz's fourth of the tournament, moving him clear at the top of the scorers' chart.

At Rabat's Al Medina Stadium, Cameroon's Junior Tchamadeu opened the scoring in the 34th minute, before Christian Kofane doubled the lead early in the second half. Evidence Makgopa pulled one back for South Africa in the 88th minute, but Cameroon held on for the win.

Morocco and Cameroon will face each other for a semifinal spot on Friday.
