World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) President Witold Banka addressed multiple critical issues, including relationship with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), at a press conference on Thursday.

On U.S. relations, Banka highlighted ongoing coordination for the Los Angeles 2028 Games. "I think we have a good relationship with the USOPC," he said. "I had a very positive conversation with [USOPC chair] Gene SYKES about the preparation for Los Angeles 2028. "

"We are in permanent contact with them. There are some discrepancies with other stakeholders within the U.S., but I think we are quite optimistic regarding future collaborations ahead of the Games."

Banka also expressed his optimism over a proposed U.S. government bill to suspend WADA funding. "I remain optimistic when it comes to engagement with our friends from the U.S., I know very soon they are going to pay the (financial) contribution," he said.

On tensions with the USADA, which has publicly criticized WADA's handling of several high-profile cases in recent years, Banka emphasized institutional solidarity.

"There are some difficulties when it comes to the leadership, but in general, I strongly disagree with suggestions of a lack of credibility and trust in our system, because the trust is quite strong," said Banka. "There are a few strong and vocal voices of criticism, but the majority of [USADA] people are very supportive and want to move forward and work together."

Banka also firmly condemned the so-called "Enhanced Games," stating: "We have condemned this event, and there is a strong unity among governments and sports federations about the idea. It is a very dangerous and irresponsible concept."
