Jamie Leweling scored twice as fourth-placed VfB Stuttgart claimed a convincing 4-0 home win over VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

Stuttgart set the tone early. Deniz Undav opened the scoring in the 21st minute, finishing from close range after Chris Fuhrich sent a low delivery into the area.

Stuttgart doubled its lead nine minutes later. A swift counterattack moved through Angelo Stiller, Ermedin Demirovic and Undav before Fuhrich picked out Leweling at the far post for a simple finish.

Wolfsburg struggled to respond and fell further behind before the break. A long throw was not fully cleared, allowing Leweling to strike from the right edge of the box. His effort took a deflection on its way past goalkeeper Kamil Grabara to make it 3-0 at halftime.

Wolfsburg coach Daniel Bauer made three changes after the interval, but the visitors created few clear chances. Kento Shiogai and Jesper Lindstrom both tested goalkeeper Alexander Nubel, who maintained Stuttgart's comfortable advantage.

Substitute Nikolas Nartey completed the rout deep into stoppage time, turning in after strong work from Tiago Tomas.

The win strengthened Stuttgart's push for UEFA Champions League qualification. Wolfsburg, meanwhile, extended its winless run to seven matches and slipped to 17th in the standings.

"The first half was strong and I think the result is justified, even at this margin. Maybe we could have been a bit more clinical towards the end," Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness said.

Also on Sunday, RB Leipzig beat Hamburger SV 2-1 to remain fifth, while Eintracht Frankfurt climbed to seventh after a 2-0 win over SC Freiburg.
