"We should make good use of Hong Kong's unique status under the 'one country, two systems' framework and its distinctive institutions as a window to integrate into the country's overall development. It is a platform to bring Chinese culture and sports to the world, and it is also very open to foreign acts performing there," he said.

Mok, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended the opening of the fourth session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday.

He mentioned that Hong Kong now has a new venue, the Kai Tak Sports Park, which can host large-scale cultural and sports exchange activities between China and foreign countries. "Especially next year marks the 30th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland," Mok noted, "so preparations are underway for large-scale events and more. Hong Kong's international status and recognition must be further strengthened."

The artist noted that traditional Chinese culture spans thousands of years of history, and he believed it is very important to share stories about traditional Chinese culture, while telling the world about modern China and how well it has developed.

Mok also said that cultural exchanges between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan are very important, and he has been to Taiwan to perform for local residents. "Cultural exchanges are highly important as we share the same language and roots," he said. "It is crucial to have more exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, as they will strengthen the bond between people across the strait."

He added that he will also communicate with relevant national departments during the national session to see how to integrate Hong Kong's film and showbiz industries into national development and the 15th Five-Year Plan.
