Dianjiang county has a long history of peony cultivation, dating back nearly 2,000 years. In recent years, Dianjiang has leveraged its peony culture to enrich the heritage of the "Hometown of Peonies." Through festival-based platforms, it has continuously promoted the city brand of "Hometown of Peonies, Wellness Dianjiang."
The brand value of the Peony Culture Festival has grown steadily, earning accolades such as "One of the Most Influential Cultural Tourism Festivals in western China." As a result, Dianjiang's cultural identity and recognition have significantly improved, with the county being named among the "2025 Top 100 National Counties for Integrated Cultural Tourism Development Potential."
According to local officials, Dianjiang will focus on its goal of "building a high-standard satellite city of Chongqing's main urban area" in the future. Efforts will be made to enhance tourism infrastructure, develop boutique homestays and study tour routes, and host key events such as the Peony Marathon and triathlon competitions.
